Welcome to the studio! My name is Meredith Tompkins, and I am a voice/choir teacher, composer, and freelance singer in the Dallas area. I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a BM in Theory/Composition, and I also hold an MA in Vocal Pedagogy from Texas Woman's University. I have been teaching private voice since 2011, and in that time I have worked for award-winning choir programs and directors. I have a successful history of teaching students ranging in age from 8 to over 50. Many of my current and former students have been accepted to prestigious auditioned organizations, including the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas, Booker T. Washington High School music program, TMEA All-State Choirs, regional honor choirs, top college choirs, and various community theater productions.

Currently, I sing with Orpheus Chamber Singers, The Verdigris Ensemble, Dallas Chamber Choir, and am a freelance singer working with musical groups, churches and community theaters in DFW. I am on the board of directors for The Verdigris Ensemble and am a regular singer with The Dallas Choral Festival. In the summers of 2012-2016, I performed professionally at CAMP-of-the-WOODS resort in upstate New York. I have worked as a studio vocalist for several album projects, including Orpheus Chamber Singers' My Soul's Repose (released 2017), Ted Pearce's Battle for Zion and the accompanying CD to Edward C. Spann's book, Presidential Praise. From 2008 to 2012, I was a member of the band EarthenSong, which released an album ("Shake Off This Feeling") in 2012. I am a proud Texas All-State Mixed Choir alumnus (2006 and 2007).

I absolutely love teaching. My ultimate goal is for students to develop confidence in their voice as they learn valuable music and performance skills in a fun, safe, and creative environment.
